More Belly and the Ultrasound

I didn't get around to taking a 19 week picture so it got skipped.

20 Weeks- This was taken right before we left to get the ultrasound. I look sort of pointy. Weird.

21 Weeks

It's looking more round. :)

The Ultrasound

IT'S A GIRL! Here's our little girl sucking her thumb. Bad habits start early I guess.

Here she is... hiding. It was actually really funny because when the tech tried to get a look at her face she would turn the opposite direction. So I had to roll onto my side, we'd get by her head, and then she'd turn again. I had to keep rolling from side to side until she finally tired herself out or something. The ultrasound tech asked me if I had eatten anything sugary right before we came in so we started rattling off everything I'd eatten that day and she just said, "Well.... it's not sugar." It turns out that we have a very active and shy baby on the way. This was the best shot we could get of her face for about fifteen minutes before she started to cooperate.

Thumbs up! We saw this and thought it was the cutest thing and then a couple of seconds later we saw her stick it into her mouth and it just wasn't as cute anymore.

Here's her little feet. When we tried to see what gender she was, she crossed her legs so we couldn't see anything. A little later she unclenched her thighs, making it so we could see, but her ankles were still crossed.

Funny story. When we were waiting for them to call us back, Spencer couldn't hold still! His leg was bouncing all over and he'd switch positions every minute or so. I kept asking him if he was ok and he'd just say, "Yeah." really quickly and he'd go right back to bouncing. After I'd been shaken to death I asked if he was nervous and he said, "No. Not really. I'm excited. .... I really want it to be a girl. I think that'd be cool." It was funny though because he didn't seem to have any emotion. A few minutes later they called my name and Spencer was up and a few steps away before I could even get up. We got in the room, started the ultrasound and as soon as we got to see her, his whole face lit up and got super excited. He was so happy when we found out that she was a girl. I think she'll be a daddy's girl. Time will tell.

We're both so happy that we'll be parents soon. It was so good to finally see her and to know that everything is going the way it should.

My Growing Belly

Spencer and I are thrilled to announce that we're going to have a baby in January! We've been wanting to start a blog for awhile but haven't gotten around to doing it until yesterday. Now that we've got it going I just need to remember to keep posting things.
I thought I'd share some pictures of my growing belly for those who rarely get to see me. Enjoy!
13 Weeks- I pulled my shirt super tight to show off my little bulge.

14 Weeks

15 Weeks

16 Weeks- This is me without my shirt tightened. I know... you can't tell I'm pregnant at all. I actually had some people tell me they were starting to think I had lied about being pregnant. (Sorry that the picture is on its side. I haven't been able to figure out how to fix that yet.)

This is with my shirt tightened.

18 Weeks- This is when I actually start to look pregnant. :) I'm proud to say that I didn't tighten my shirt for this picture. It probably doesn't look like it but to me it felt like it exploded over night. I woke up and BOOM there it was! It's really fun to look down and actually SEE that I'm pregnant. (I forgot to take a picture for week 17 but I assure you I looked exactly the same as I did in week 16.)
Today I'm 19 weeks but I haven't taken a picture yet so I'll get on that and get it up here.
Spencer and I are very excited to become parents!!!
